The Christmas season will be here soon and Arts Alive will offer a special program to capture the spirit of the season. On Friday, December 7th we'll convene in the West Bottoms at the beautiful, historic Livestock Exchange Building, home to many local artists, three art galleries and the newly opened Golden Ox.
We'll convene at 6:00pm in the atrium of the building where we'll offer our usual reception and begin by visiting the three galleries on the first floor. The Vanessa Lacy Gallery, Kiosk Gallery and the Owl+Mouse Textile Designs will be open to offer current works and specials for Christmas. We'll then wander through the eight floors of open studio spaces and meet many of the artists in their space.
We'll continue the evening inside the original Livestock Bank space where we'll be entertained by the Snow Globes, a musical trio lead by guitarist Barclay Martin and including Lindsey Jones and Rick Willoughby. The music of Christmas with their unusual twist on traditional carols include original holiday themed compositions and some well known favorites. They've recorded five CDs in the last seven years and all have sold out. Proceeds from these releases go to fund the Wash Project, founded by Barclay to better the lives of over 7000 children living in Mali, West Africa. You may remember Barclay when he performed for us nearly six years ago and presented photos from Madagascar as well as music from the people of that country.
We'll look forward to celebrating with you at this holiday event. Still only $35.00 so invite your friends and make it a special evening with Arts Alive.
