5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
5:00 pm - “Patterns & Perspectives” at the Buttonwood Art Space
7:30 pm - Don’t Touch My Hair at the Unicorn Theatre
Our evening begins at the Buttonwood Art Space, where we’ll enjoy heavy appetizers and explore “Patterns & Perspectives,” an inspiring exhibition showcasing original works from artists across the region and beyond. The collection invites viewers to consider how patterns—both visual and metaphorical—shape our understanding of the world, and how perspective evolves with time, space, and emotion. Proceeds from the exhibition benefit Pathway to Hope, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting and educating individuals and families navigating mental illness.
From there, we continue to Unicorn Theatre for their production of Don’t Touch My Hair, the final play in Douglas Lyons’ “The Deep Breath Trilogy: New Plays for Black Women.” This electrifying work celebrates Black womanhood and self-discovery - Eemani and Jade light up to unwind—but their blunt is laced with more than weed. What follows is a wild, hilarious, and eye-opening hallucination that grants them the power to confront their past.
Tickets are $45 per person. As always tickets are nonrefundable; however you may give or sell your ticket to a friend if your plans change
