Join us on Sunday, October 26 for a gallery visit, artist talk and private concert—all within walking distance on the University of Missouri Kansas City campus.

The evening begins at the UMKC Gallery of Art for an exhibit called Light, Color, and Movement, by Kansas City artist William Kay.  Kay will join us for an artist talk to provide insight into his creative process and the emotional architecture behind his work.  Davin Wente will also speak about his curatorial vision and the institutional context that shaped the exhibit.

As the gallery experience winds down, the rhythm carries us across campus to the Henry W. Block School of Management, where guests are greeted by the bronze sculpture of Henry and Marion Bloch. Created by Eugene Daub, this eight-foot, life-and-a-half scale tribute was commissioned by the Bloch children to honor their parents’ legacy of generosity and civic leadership.

We’ll step into Bloch Executive Hall for heavy hors d’oeuvres and mingling guests, wrapped in a space that feels both expansive and intentional. The two-story open lobby and acoustically responsive event spaces create an environment where sound moves cleanly and light settles softly—setting the stage for the performance to come.

At 6 pm, we’ll move to Room 218 to enjoy a private concert by Ensemble Ibérica Beau Bledsoe (guitar), Ezgi Karakus (cello), and John Currey (percussion). The performance is woven into a rich tapestry of music from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

Cost is $45 per person. Includes gallery tour, heavy hors d’oeuvres, concert, and free parking in designated lots. As usual, tickets are nonrefundable. If your schedule changes you can give or sell your ticket to others. Capacity is limited to 80 guests. Get your tickets now!
